Today was a very busy day.
First, we heard an explanation to make Anzac biscuits this morning. The biscuits are a traditional Australian food. I heard that most Australian people know how to make them. When we made them, we divided into eight groups. Making them was very difficult for us, so my group made a mistake while we were making them. But, after we baked them, they smelled very good. They tasted good too thought they were too sweet. I ate a lot of them at morning tea time.
Next, we had an ESL lesson. It was very hard for me, but I had a lot of fun. Especially, the time to discuss things in English with my friends was very good.
After that, we prepared for the farewell party. We practiced singing a lot. The song “yell” that we sang is very difficult. We could not have a lot of time to practice singing it, so everyone engaged themselves in practicing.
Finally, the farewell party was held.
We presented about traditional Japanese tops and cat’s cradles to our host families. I was little nervous before we presented, but I was glad that our host families enjoyed playing with them. After the presentation, I had dinner with my host family and we sang “yell” in front of host families. I enjoyed myself.

This morning, we made traditional cookies with four people. Our group could make them first and they were delicious. They were very yummy and sweet. Every cookie tasted different, even thought we used the same ingredients. The cookies made by other teams tasted creamy. That was interesting.
After that, we practiced for the farewell party. We sang YELL.
For afternoon tea, we ate pizza. That was yummy. After lunch, we danced SORANBUSHI. That was hard, but I enjoyed it.
Finally, we joined the farewell party. We ate lasagna and some fruits. It was very delicious. I was given a toy of koala from Matthew Flinders Anglican College. That was pretty and they had different faces. I was trying to buy one, but I didn’t before, so I was glad.
It was a good party. I want to come here again.

I joined a farewell party for this study abroad. We practiced a song which is called, “yell,” for the party.
My host mother said, “The song was very good!” I was glad to hear this. I ate too much dinner, fruits, and cake because they were very delicious!! I liked the cake! I want to eat it again. After that, the high school students sang a song which is called “Akashi.” I like the song because the lyrics are very good, and their sensing was very beautiful. We sang YELL. I want to sing it one more time because the song was not very good to me. I want to try one more time!!
After the party, on my way to home was very dark. I have never rode in a car at about 7 or 8 o’clock in Australia, so I was very surprised by the darkness.
When our car arrived, we saw a beautiful moon and stars. They were shinning very brightly. Today, I had an ESL lesson homework. I did it and wrote this diary, so I am very tired. It’s eleven twenty now! I have to go to bed for tomorrow! Tomorrow, I am going to buy a hot chocolate.

We had the farewell party today.
We introduced Karuta to our host families and had dinner with them and then sang asong.
Karuta is a foreign culture for my host family, so they enjoyed playing it. I was happy. Dinner was delicious. Because of that, I couldn’t button my skirt! It was so tough that I thought I would die at singing time.
I learned the characteristics of Australia and Australia’s capitals and territories. I just found out yesterday that Australian mountains are smaller than Japanese mountains. I was surprised to hear that I want to know more.

I cooked Anzac biscuits in the morning. I never ook, so I was worried whether I could cook well. I saw a recipe and it was easy. It was very good so I will want to cook it at home in Japan if I have the ingredients.
After that, I had an ESL lesson. I learned about Australia. Tomorrow, I have my last lesson, so I will do my best. After lunch, I practiced our presentation and song. We had pizza for afternoon tea. I ate two pieces of pizza. I like the BBQ flavor. It was very good. I like pizza, so I was happy, but I ate DOMINO’s pizza for yesterday’s dinner.
At 16:30, I started to present about calligraphy for our host families. It was very tiring but I did my best. After that, we had a farewell party. I liked the garlic toast. It was very delicious. After dinner, I had a cake for dessert. It was very good, but I was so full. My skirt seemed to burst.
I san “YELL.” When we finished our song, my host mother said to me, “very good!” so I was very happy!
Today, I ate too much.
I have just three days left in Australia, so for these days, I want to have a lot of fun! And, tomorrow, I will cook dinner with N, so I will have fun!!!

Thursday, August 18th. In the morning, we made Anzac biscuits. To make them, you need oats, plain flour, sugar, butter, golden syrup and bicarbonate of soda but not eggs. I enjoyed making them. They were delicious and sweet.
After that, we looked at a map of Australia and learned about the cities and what is different between Australia and Japan. After morning tea, we practiced singing a song.
At the farewell party, I was glad because I was successful in singing my part. We had pizza for afternoon tea, but I didn’t eat pizza because I was not hungry. Today, I gave a presentation to my host family. I enjoyed explaining to them. After that, I ate dinner with my host family, Mr. Plunkett and Mr. Kanda. I was going to give a present to my host father, Adam. However, Adam wasn’t in the performance center, so I gave the present to my host mother, Helen.
After the farewell party, we went to the shop to buy ingredients for tomorrow’s dinner which we will make and the ingredients for a birthday cake for my host sister, Jemeira.
Tomorrow, I have my final ESL lesson. I want to enjoyed the lesson, and I want to help Helen because she will make birthday cake.
